MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A missing 14-year-old girl that was believed to be leaving the country with her 23-year-old boyfriend has been found safe in Ohio.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a crime alert earlier Thursday and said Hanjoo Ashley Lee left with her boyfriend, Young Hoon Kim, on Wednesday morning from her home in Coon Rapids, Minn. Kim has been arrested on possible felony charges of deprivation of parental rights.
He is being held in Ohio, waiting for extradition. Lee is being held while her parents are in route to bring her back to Minnesota.
The BCA said both were located in Ohio.
Police thought the two may have been headed out of the country when credit card receipts were found showing British Airways tickets were purchased by Kim.
