Dementia and driving?? Shes probably someplace in WI or IO by now. Id be darned if Id let my relative drive with that kind of a handicap! Disable or sell the car, plain and simple.

I’m glad she is safe and home now, but I absolutely could not agree more! She really shouldnt be driving if she has dementia. Don’t physicians have some responsibility to notify the DOT if someone is unable to continue to drive safely? Ie: like when person has had an epileptic seizure?

Not only should the physician be responsible but the family should not be letting this woman drive. Taking away someones ability to drive is a VERY hard thing to do but you are endangering too many people by allowing her to drive.
