    There was nothing awkward in the circumstance shown. The Pope looked like an old man who had to watch gymnasts to satisfy some public relations person instead of doing more important work. There are nude statues and paintings throughout Vatican City. Awkward would have been if the Pope stopped the performance and told them to cover themselves. Awkward would be if the Pope covered all the nude artwork in the Vatican with drapes. Oh wait, our own government did that a few years ago. Awkward.
