INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) — Police are investigating a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in the southern Twin Cities metro area overnight.

According to authorities, the chase began in St. Paul, continued into South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and Eagan. Speeds were said to have exceeded 100 mph.

At about 1:30 a.m., the chase ended at Highway 13 and Lone Oak Road in Eagan when the driver jumped the vehicle over the snowbank and crash-landed about 50 feet off the road, authorities said.

Police haven’t identified the driver or reported on the driver’s condition. It is not yet clear what started the chase.

Really? A high-speed chase happened. We don’t know why, or who, or the outcome, or anything relevant, but we thought we’d tell you that something happened. Your reporting sucks!

I agree with Dave. If you cant give any more information than that, i dont think you should even report it as its poor journalism and without the facts, who really wants to know!

Still can’t identify the driver?? Really? You mean the cops can’t even tell us if the driver was male or female? How about, can the driver speak and understand english? Does the driver appear to be white, black, asian, latino, rainbow, etc.?
How about the approximate age? Teens, 30′s, 50′s, older? How does revealing that kind of info hurt any future case? How about telling us who the vehicle and plates were registered to? Did the driver have any kind of driver’s license?

And one wonders why the general public has so little faith anymore in our local media, which constantly remind us how much we need them and how much they try to help the community.

WHY CHASE THEM?

WHY RISK LIVES WITH A HIGH-SPEED CHASE? WAS THIS A MURDER SUSPECT???? ANOTHER NOT-NECESSARY HIGH-SPEED CHASE HERE IN MN. IT’S NOT LIKE YOU CAN’T SHOW UP AT THEIR HOUSE LATER AND GIVE THEM THE TICKET!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m with the above, why is this even a story without any detail. Quit mascarading as someone who deserves a job or is performing one, pay someone smart and get some better results. Who what why where when how that’s journalism- this is horse manure.
