ELK RIVER, Minn. (WCCO) — A 48-year-old man has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
Scott Whitcomb, of Zimmerman, Minn. was booked into the Sherburne County Jail after the sheriff’s office received a complaint from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to the complaint, a computer being used in Sherburne County had been distributing child pornography. Through an investigation, it was determined that the computer belonged to Whitcomb.
A search warrant was obtained and computers were seized from the residence.
Investigators found photographs of children that were taken in Whitcomb’s home and were able to identify three of the children in the photos.
Through interviews with two of the children, investigators found Whitcomb allegedly sexually assaulted the children and took photos and videos of them in his home.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
Whitcomb faces four charges of criminal sexual conduct and is currently being held on $200,000 unconditional bail.
