1 Dead, 3 Hurt In Accident At Construction Site

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WCCO) -- A worker is dead and three others are in a hospital Monday after an accident at a sand plant construction site, according to Chippewa Falls officials.

Police said a cement wall fell just before 4:30 p.m. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been told about the accident.

The four workers were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, according to police. The Chippewa County Coroner said one of the workers, 36-year-old Kevin Kadrlick of Marshfield, died from compression injuries to his chest and head. He worked for Lewis Construction, according to the coroner.

The conditions of the other workers have not been released.

A lawyer for the company that owns the plant, EOG, said they have begun their own investigation and are cooperating with officials.
