Man Arrested On Federal Child Porn Charge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man who was arrested earlier this week on state charges for having child pornography has now been arrested and charged with a federal crime too.

The FBI said that Scott Whitcomb, 48, of Zimmerman, Minn. was arrested on Dec. 20 on four charges of criminal sexual conduct. The criminal complaint says that he allegedly engaged in numerous sex acts with a 15-year-old boy and the boy's 12-year-old brother.

Both boys said that Whitcomb had sexually assaulted them and took photos and videos of them in his home over the past two to three years.

With a search warrant, officers were able to seize computers from his residence and found photographs of children that were taken in Whitcomb's home.

Whitcomb was booked into the Sherburne County Jail, but was released on Dec. 22 after posting bail. He was re-arrested later that day on a federal charge of possession and distribution of child pornography.

He made his first court appearance on the federal charge Thursday, where he was ordered held without bond.
