Mankato City Officials, Residents Tired Of All The Snow

By Liz Collin, WCCO-TV

MANKATO (WCCO) -- One city in southern Minnesota has already seen more snow than most would like to see all winter long.

The city of Mankato could see up to six inches of snow by Friday morning. It will be the eighth significant snowfall of the season in the city.

Plow drivers have been working non-stop seven-day shifts for six weeks to keep up with it all.

Mankato plowed through its $450,000 snow removal budget weeks ago. The city has already declared seven snow emergencies, which is already one more than last year.

It has Mankato residents counting down the days until Spring.

"I'm getting tired of it," said one Mankato resident. "The older you get, the worse it is. I've had enough."

Forty-five inches of snow has fallen in Mankato in the last six weeks, which is about 8 more inches than the Twin Cities.
