Another Christmas Baby For Wis. Family

WATERLOO, Wis. (AP) — A Waterloo family had a lot to celebrate this Christmas and will from now on.

Twenty-year-old Brianna Whitney, of Waterloo, gave birth to babies on Christmas Day — two years and 10 minutes apart. She had Logan Whitney this Christmas and had his sister 2-year-old Kyra Jensen two years ago.

She says Kyra’s due date was Jan. 21 and Logan’s was Jan. 5. Both were also delivered by the same obstetrician at St. Mary’s Hospital.

The children’s grandmother, Donna Higgins, of Sun Prairie, tells the Wisconsin State Journal that she’s overwhelmed thinking about all the gifts that will be needed next Christmas.

Hospital spokesman Steve Van Dinter says the odds of this happening are very, very slim.

Congratulations, I have a granddaughter born on 12/25/2003 and a grandson born on 12/25/2004. They are brother and sister.

  • Drew

Congrats! Not too excited that she had birth at 18 and 20……and don’t see a Dad’s name listed in the article.

    • Tonya

I would have to agree with Drew. What happened to being married before having children?

      • me

It’s the new millenium? We are not in kanses anymore Toto…

    • A

I thought the same thing when I was reading this. The new baby has her last name it looks like and the 2 year old has a different last name.

  • Michelle

Good lord Drew….way to be a Debbie Downer. Lighten up!

  • Mary

Michelle, totally agree with Drew though. I mean c’mon! And why is this news anyway.

  • cavy

Why doesn’t this ever happen on August 8th?

  • Karen Miller

It isn’t your place to judge Drew. Some day maybe you’ll come to the realization your life wasn’t lived to perfection either.

  • Sandy Anderson-Toody

agreed with Karen.. God is the only one that has the right to judge her. and further more just because the father wasnt mentioned doesnt mean that they are not together. my husband and I were together for 15 years before we married and had a child first. on another note. . she does have a different last name than her mother could that mean something??

    • me

.Good lord people…what does it matter why the last name is different…Some people never change their last name when they get married…others have their named changed. In today’s day and age your last name doesn’t necessarily need to be the same as your childrens or your husbands…seesh

  • Shelia

Oh Karen and others, Drew said congrats first! Give it a break..just because Drew said not excited, Drew wasn’t bashing like you are bashing Drew. Happy frickin Holidays to you bashers! Congrats to the family on a new baby! :)

  • Drew

Thanks Shelia, I wasn’t bashing, just stating a fact.

Karen, it wasn’t a judgement, just a statement of how young she is. I am, in fact, a father at the age of 21, maybe now my comment will make more sense to you. Sad you had to go below the belt and make a judgement against me. Oh, and to set the record straight, everyone has issues and less than perfection in their lives, you don’t need to remind us.

  • Drew

Oh! And I did say congrats as Sheila pointed out, which I meant! What a true holiday blessing!

  • Michele

Congrats to the family, a blessing for sure !

Drew: you sound like a decent young man, thanks for sticking up for yourself!!

God bless us all and Happy New Year!

  • Mrs Killer

I have two boys. One born 4-18-1985, the other 4-18-1988. It’s more common than you think.

  • Joy

Some choose to have their families young and some not. It’s their choice. We should wish them well. What a festive holiday their family will have for years to come.
