1 Dead In Two-Car Crash In Crow Wing County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 55-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Crow Wing County.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene after midnight Thursday in the 25000 block of County Road 3 in Center Township.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Deborah Pangburn, of Merrifield, Minn. was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, David Fleischacker, 28, of Fort Ripley, Minn. was not injured.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Pangburn crossed the center line into the path of the southbound lane. They say she was hit broadside on the driver's side of the vehicle by Fleishacker's vehicle.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were ice covered and slippery, according to police.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office are reminding drivers that winter driving conditions can become unsafe very quickly.

"Our hearts go out to the Pangburn family. We certainly don't want to see any more of these kinds of crashes in our county, and I urge everyone to slow down and make it home safely," Sheriff Todd Dahl said in a release.
