MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill has hired the rest of his staff.

The school announced Thursday that Jay Sawvel will be the new defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator. Sawvel was an assistant under Kill at Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois.

Kill, who led Northern Illinois before taking the Minnesota job, will also bring Eric Klein with him to be the head strength and conditioning coach for the Gophers. The native of Apple Valley and Carleton College alumnus has coached with Kill for the last 17 years.

Additionally, Kill named Brian Anderson and Nate Griffin to quality control positions on defense and offense, respectively. Adam Clark will be the director of player personnel, and Billy Glasscock will be the director of recruiting operations.
