Bemidji St. Beats Union 3-1
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Matt Read scored two goals and Jordan George added a goal and an assist as Bemidji State beat Union College 3-1 Saturday in the Dodge Holiday Classic men's hockey tournament.
The Beavers (7-10-1) finished 2-0 at the tournament and improved to 1-2-3 all-time against Union. They beat Ferris State 3-2 on Friday.
Read and Union's Daniel Carr exchanged goals in the first period. George scored the game-winner midway though the second period and Read added an insurance goal at 1:58 of the third.
The Dutchmen (11-6-3) outshot Bemidji State 31-21, but Beavers goalie Dan Bakala made 30 saves.
Keith Kinkaide had 18 saves for Union.
