MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Let’s Kick Hunger Day in the Twin Cities! WCCO Radio has teamed up with Taste of the NFL to help feed struggling families.

WCCO Radio is broadcasting live at the Mall of America until 6 p.m. Friday. Among the special guests expected to help in the effort is famed TV chef Bobby Flay, via Skype.

Volunteers from Cargill, General Mills, and Land O’ Lakes are staffing the phone lines.

Last year the Let’s Kick Hunger event raised $190,000. This year, they’re hoping to raise even more money.

Half of the donations will go to Second Harvest and other food shelves here in the Twin Cities, the other half goes to the Feeding America program.

To donate, call 952-886-HERO or 952-886-4376.

I second that!! Way to put it Cache. My husband works his tail off and we pay to state taxes every year to support all of those who feel they don’t have to work and just have more kids that they can’t support while we pay for their food, beer, smokes and healthcare. When I have to budget for the grocery store and use coupons.

Hope

Most of these people we want to help, of course, are hard working U.S. citizens and their children who have been paying taxes like you and me for years and now are unable to feed their families.

God Bless America!
