Reward Increased In St. Paul Death By Car

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Police hope an additional reward will help solve the killing of a man intentionally struck by a car five months ago in St. Paul.

The reward now stands at $4,000 for information in the death of 54-year-old Danny Wright of Pine City.

Wright was fatally injured about 5 a.m. Aug. 7 in the Union Gospel Mission parking lot. Witnesses told police Wright was walking east on University Avenue when a man drove alongside and shouted at him before running Wright down.

Wright died at Regions Hospital. Police say there apparently was no argument before Wright was run down. Authorities don't think he knew his attacker.

Police spokesman Andy Skoogman tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that police are putting up flyers about the case and the reward at homeless shelters.
