MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar said she’ll continue her public appearances, even in the wake of a shooting massacre in Arizona.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords remains critical. She was among 13 people wounded and six killed Saturday by a gunman in Tucson, Arizona.

“You always know it’s a risk and you look at each thing on a case-by-case basis,” said Sen. Klobuchar.

The Minnesota democrat said she has 13 public appearances scheduled in the next few days and plans to keep every one of them.

“You look at it and you know this is your job,” she said.

Klobuchar is concerned about what some characterize as vitriolic speech on a few radio and television programs. She said people are listening and it’s possible such speech could prompt violent actions.

Not Amy, but Mark may go into hiding. He did after 9/11 in the Senate.

  2. MNBrant says:

Nice to see Amy back in the news. Democrats have been pretty quiet lately

  3. jas says:

People lost thier lives. But it’s good to know that won’t slow Amy down….

well maybe an honest person is tired of all the dishonest elected officials in our country and started to do something. Then again after what is going on with our judges in the system I guess the only honest people left are us poor who can not afford anything.

Have no fear Senator. No one would want to shoot you. So stop protesting a non-event.

Shooting Kommissar Klobuchar would be a waste of a good bullet. Much like Berny Sanders, her loudly proclaimed love affair with robbing workers to buy votes from layabouts is one of the best advertisements for limited government one could want.

  6. StraycatStrut says:

Hang in there Amy….. the country has never been so divided in “recent” modern history. Just remember to work together….then apart such as Obamacare. All liberal tree hugging policies and delighting over hotdish is not always the way to go.

    1. Me says:

Hey Idiot, realize that stopping obamacare will add 200 billion to the national debt?

      1. SargeH says:

Your math is phony, but the only way they come up with a deficit figure is because the Obamacrats were counting on “cap and trade” to foot the billl.

  7. JD says:

The estimates for repeal adding to the debt is because part of the health-care plan includes pretty steep medicare cuts and forcing healthy people into a government mandated plan will allow the cost of providing care for the unhealthy to be spread amongst more payers.

I personally do not favor an outright repeal as there were some good points but the individual mandate for healthy adults which candidate Obama said he would not support is not constitutional.

A much simpler approach to health care reform would have been a medicare safety net with a $5000 deductible for all US citizens (minimal premiums) emergencies and scrapping the AGI requirement to deduct medical expenses for the first $5000. This would encourage a consumer driven health care system instead of top down dictation of what should and should not be paid for by the taxpayers.

Michele Bachmann has been hiding from her constituents for years! She should feel very safe in the Fox studios! I would bet that they have excellant security.

  9. SargeH says:

A cheap attempt to keep her name and face in the news.

    1. Kieron says:

Maybe she’s taking a page from La Belle Michele.

  10. Eiolgj says:

Sounds like some of you are applauding what has happened. Shame on you. And shame on people who want to increase costs to seniors and others by repealing the Health Care law. We are thanking Obama for it because now our daughter is covered with her big medical bills. Yes, we are paying premiums for this, but I believe in paying for what we get. But she would have no insurance at all if it weren’t for this bill.

Step back and ask yourself: “How long would I remain free if I had a website with gunsights placed on politicians?” Not VERY! Time to take these Terrorists off the streets. Start with Palin and go from there. Last time I checked she’s a “Regular Citizen”., treat her as such. Put the “Tea Party” under heavy surveillance. What kind of Tea are they drinking? Mushroom Tea? A Rose by any other name is still a Rose. The TeaParty is a Terrorist breeding ground if I’ve ever seen one.

    1. Victim Du Jour says:

Democrats aid and abett drug trafficking in Arizona, it’s easy to link this kid to drugs than it is to link him to the Tea Party movement.

No one had a problem with the music industry distrubuting rap music and album covers with police in crosshairs.

It’s easier to link this kid to Marijuana than anything.

      1. Adolf N. says:

Good point! He should have stayed home and downed a bag of potato chips.
but, as I recall a lot of people did have a problem with “Cop Killer” cover…..
        but you’re right….not much was done……Crazy World!

      2. Victim Du Jour says:

I’d also like to add, we need to get rid of diversity. Let’s get back to basics shall we?

I for one am all for deporting all immigrants. They just don’t belong here.

        White Power!

  13. HTP says:

…meanwhile, millions of K-12 students also plan to go back to school tomorrow, despite the fact that 284 children have died from school shootings since 1999 (National School Safety and Security Services study).

By putting on a brave face, Amy, you’ve shown just how out of touch you really are with the rest of us.

  14. Victim Du Jour says:

Every member of Congress should be drug tested for Marijuana on monday.

It’s common knowledge, Marijuana causes paranoid schizophrenia.

  15. Victim Du Jour says:

In my opinion, 1 down 19 more to go.

    Hate them liberalz
