3 Arrested For Alleged Aggravated Assault In St. Paul

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- St. Paul Police arrested three people in connection with an aggravated assault of a 22-year-old man, who is currently listed in critical condition.

Robert Deon Coleman, 28, Andrew Deonte Higgins, 23, and Surina Marine Pope, 23, were arrested for the assault of LeRoy Barnes, which police believe was not a random incident.

St. Paul Police were called to an apartment building around 7:30 p.m. on the 1300 block of Westminster Street, on a report that a person was injured and lying in the apartment's parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers found medics working on Barnes, who was unconscious and had suffered multiple injuries.

Investigators say Barnes was involved in a confrontation before the assault but police are unclear as to what led to the argument.

The investigation will continue.
