Sertich To Be New IRRRB Commissioner
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton has confirmed to the Mesabi Daily News in Virginia, Minn., that Rep. Tony Sertich will be the new Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board commissioner.
The newspaper said Dayton disclosed his pick during an interview in St. Paul on Monday afternoon. The Senate must confirm the nomination.
Sertich is an agency board member. The Chisholm Democrat was elected in 2000 at the age of 24.
Dayton said the Iron Range legislative delegation was "unanimous" in support of his choice. He said "three or four" others had been considered initially for the job.
