  1. William Reed says:

Hey Mr. Maher! The guy read the communist manifesto and NAZI books. He was a deconstructionist. Those are all left wing things. Maybe the left should tone down the rhetoric

    1. jim says:

Hey Reed; The so called “guy” you refer to is highly educated. He reads continually whether he agrees or disagrees with its content.
      Need I say more?

      1. Mahrerer says:

He reads, but is not highly educated.
        He has no advanced degrees.

      2. dave says:

jim, so because Bill reads he is smart? Boy, haven’t we lowered the bar. No wonder America is in trouble. You may have missed, as has the media, that the judge killed was a Republican. What I find disgusting, and quite frankly, makes me sick to my stomach is the left is using this for political gain. We have this horrible tragedy and all the left can think about is how to leverage it to push their agenda. How sad. How very, very sad.

      3. Joannie says:

jim, I hope you’re referring to Maher and not to Loughner. As I believe Weilliam Reed was referring to Loughner, you might want to re-read his comment.

    2. Jan Schmaltz says:

Maher spouts hatred of conservatives, but no acknowledgement of the vicious hatred against the right. Did liberals make a movie called “Death of a President”? This movie was not about a ficticious President, but about President Bush. How can these idiots pretend that we are so stupid as not to remember the movies, haning & burning in effigy, references to the killing of conservatives?

      1. Bill says:

Jan the movie you refer to was directed by Gabriel Range and he is a British filmmaker. Beside Democrats never have murdered a President of the United States or his brother the same can not be said for the right wing, are don’t you remeber the Kennedy brothers

    3. alagha says:

why is it that all of these nuts are republican(wait for the report on his voting records and his membership in young republicans )
not all republicans are NUTS ,but all the gun swinger are …..

      1. Abbey Normal says:

@alagha I don’t have to wait. The news has already reported that he never voted. Why is it you leftists can only see violence where it does not exist coming only from the right. Yet the obvious and apparent violence that is inherent in the left is always ignored.

Is it because leftest violence is justified in your eyes? So before you continue you one side campaign against people who have no responsibility or involvement in this or any other tragedy you might want to look at this: http://michellemalkin.com/2011/01/10/the-progressive-climate-of-hate-an-illustrated-primer-2000-2010/

This guy was mostly apolitical but one of his classmates described him as a “left winged pothead”. I am not accusing him of being a leftest because, unlike you, I think the ONLY motivation for this guy was that he was a psycho.

      2. Abbey Normal says:

@alagha No not all gun swingers nuts! Do you actually know anyone who owns a gun? I know a lot of people who hunt deer and pheasant. I know a lot of people who just like to shoot practice targets and clay pigeons. Some people just collect guns for display only.

Many people, especially women, carry a concealed gun for their personal protection.

        They are normal US citizens.

Liberalism in and of itself is a mental disorder. Anyone who would engage in promoting an unsustainable system of government by getting rid of what our founding fathers gave us is deranged. Gun ownership is a basic right that all citizens have and is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment. The 2nd Amendment was included in the bill of right by Thomas Jefferson as a safety recourse for all of the citizens of the US to have in the event that our government became tyrannical. Look it up. That is precisely why it was added and for no other reason.

This does not mean that the Tea Party is on the verge of a violent revolution. This means that you and me both are allowed by the Constitution to protect and defend our personal freedom from tyranny. Individual liberty is more valuable than life itself and that is the concept that this nation was founded on.

Think before you offhandedly accuse all gun owners of being NUTS you might want to look into a mirror. Remember all dictators, tyrants and despots when they first come into power their first order of business is to remove all methods of the people to revolt. Hitler, Lenin, etc they all took guns away from the people first.

    4. Bill says:

I would suggest you become more literate about that of which you speak! Get off you tail end and research the Nazi party lead by Adolf Hitler was the Right wing of the German political scene. Assassination attempts were made on Hitler by the socialist party in Germany ,I know it is a terrible truth but Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were Germanys version of the Right wing conservative movement here in the US today. They even have many of the same stances on immigration.

    5. Bill says:

      Dave
I am neither right nor left I am an American and I have noticed the biggest noise in the political arena comes from Limbaugh, Palin and Beck 6 dead Americans, 14 wounded Americans and Limbaugh, Beck and Palin still think it is all about them.

  2. Stormbringer says:

No….I wasn’t aware that Maher ever mattered. He is simply one of the hatemongers on the left that has been given a platform from which he and his guests present their partisan poison.

    1. jim says:

The “hatemonger” is you Stormbringer; This man has an abundance of common sense; somethig that your uneducated mind lacks. Need I say more?

    2. joe says:

Hate monger? Are you insane? Yeah, you probably are.

    3. Sarah says:

Hate mongers? I don’t recall him asking someone to “takeout” Harry Reid or to “reload” or “if the ballot doesn’t do it the bullet will.” When the right wing takes some responsibility for at least half the problem, perhaps it could be solved.

    4. Richard says:

There is a huge distinction between a “hatemonger” and someone who comments on them, which is what Maher does. Accusing Maher of being a “hatemonger” is the very conduct he criticizes whenever he sees it (which by the way in the great majority of cases are Republican or Tea Party adherents), namely, if they disgree with what a political opponent says, they are immediately branded as un-American, leftist or socialist. By the way, I don’t recall many democratic meetings or rallies where people were cheered for showing up with firearms and the crowd encouraged to do “whatever it takes” to “take America back.” That type of attitude is distinctly un-American. Maher is a comedian as well as social-political commentator and the reason he comments on the conduct of so many republicans and tea party folks is that their antics, conduct, statements and at time sheer lunacy provide a steady source of comedic material he can and does comment on. Maher is an equal opportunity abuser (he enjoys ripping democrats too) and if people would think before they spoke (or acted), he wouldn’t have the material he now has in abundance to talk about.

    5. Abbey Normal says:

Maher is one of the Americans he gladly calls “stupid”, All you Maher sycophants wouldn’t understand common sense if it knocked you upside the head. Maher is a pompous comedian who fancies himself an intellectual. But nothing he says has any long term value. His arguments are weak. The only thing he does have is his wit. He’s just a shill for the Democrat party.

    6. Really? says:

EXACTLY!!! And to Jim below- Typical liberal! Attack other posters, not the subject. Who’s the hatemonger? Maher is an ugly has been! The guy is uneducated trailer trash who caught a break and now should be ignored!!

      1. Bill says:

wow you just did what you blasted someone else for.

    7. richard says:

Like Obama said-“They bring a knife, we bring a gun” Hate is all he knows. He campaigned on hate and now his base continues it. His vitriol about Bush was the start of all the hate.

      1. Bill says:

richard your hate and or prejudice is quite obvious I will only say if you hate the American Government you hater the American People for the American Government is “of by and for the people of the United States of America” so if you hate America move to another right-wing country you know I ran, Afghanistan the Talaban controlled portions of Pakistan.

    8. Bill says:

      Stormbringer
Right, Left the problem you and others like yourself are more concerned about political power than you are about America

  3. Bill says:

I have not seen Bill Maher for a long time and now I remember why. What an idiot. Does he read? Maybe, but does he understand anything he reads?

    1. jim says:

Bill I guarantee you that Maher is much more educated than yourself.
an abundance of pure common sense. Need I say more?

      1. Jan Schmaltz says:

If Bill Maher loves Communism so much, why doesn’t he relocate to a Communist country? We are happpy to see him go.
Furthermore Jim, you are defending someone who called you “Stupid”. Does that resonate with you?
To quote “American’s are Stupid”. Are you an American?

  4. the right has ruined us says:

Mein Kampf is a right wing book. The Nazi’s were as far right as you can be.

    1. chief says:

…. it was the NATIONAL SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT PARTY!!!!!….

      1. UkraineTrain says:

Right Wing?!?!?! Please review the stances of the Communist Party and look at the parallels to Socialism and the far Left. I said ‘Far Left’.

      2. history student says:

National Socialist German Workers’ Party. By your definition, German Workers were all Democrats.

Maher rocks and doesn’t always agree with the left.

      3. GM says:

You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. Socialism was the Nazis economic system not their government system. There government system was based on fascism(as far right as you can get). Just like the United States economic system is capitalism and the government system is a democracy. Try educating yourselves before you spout off something ignorant.

      4. Bill says:

No it was the National Socialist Workers Party then it was taken over by the NAZIS in 1932.

    2. Juan says:

You obviously don’t know the political spectrum. Nazi’s were the National SOCIALIST Party. Since when were socialists right wing?

      1. jim says:

Juan; you’re probably uneducated; the German National Socialist Party were very RIGHT wing & conservative. Just because they lured in the name “socialist” has no meaning as to what Hitler & company proved to be. They gave noting to the poor except death. Read your history dummy! Need I say more?

      2. asdf says:

Like people can’t name something without adhering to it’s original meaning. Stalin called himself a “Communist” but if you read Engles and his notes on Stalin it is clear his world view had very little in common with Stalin.

      3. Bill says:

In 1919, Anton Drexler, Gottfried Feder and Dietrich Eckart formed the German Worker’s Party (GPW) in Munich. The German Army was worried that it was a left-wing revolutionary group and sent Adolf Hitler, one of its education officers, to spy on the organization. Hitler discovered that the party’s political ideas were similar to his own. He approved of Drexler’s German nationalism and anti-Semitism but was unimpressed with the way the party was organized. Although there as a spy, Hitler could not restrain himself when a member made a point he disagreed with, and he stood up and made a passionate speech on the subject.
In April, 1920, Hitler advocated that the party should change its name to the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP). Hitler had always been hostile to socialist ideas, especially those that involved racial or sexual equality. However, socialism was a popular political philosophy in Germany after the First World War. This was reflected in the growth in the German Social Democrat Party (SDP), the largest political party in Germany.

Hitler, therefore redefined socialism by placing the word ‘National’ before it. He claimed he was only in favour of equality for those who had “German blood.” Jews and other “aliens” would lose their rights of citizenship, and immigration of non-Germans should be brought to an end.

  5. Yvonne says:

I enjoy listening to Bill Maher. A great political satirist, who displays a command of the issue.

    1. Bill says:

And he doesn’t cause anyone to get death threwats either

  6. Brian says:

When times travel becomes a reality, I would love to see Sam Clemens become a guest on Bill’s show

  7. Sean R. says:

To one of the poster who said that nazi’s are were rightist, I have to rain on your parade junior, if you’ve studied history, you would’ve learned that the word nazisim stands for “National Socialist German Workers Party”! The nazi’s where left wing socialist, that’s a FACT, not an opinion little boy. Your clearly parrotting the same talking points that your teachers have brainwashed you with and the left wing media who’s been ramming this big lie down your throat.

The fact is this kid read Das Kapital, Communist Manifesto, Mein Kampf, burned the american flag on his youtube website, anti-american, anti-israel, pro-palestinian, 9/11 Truther, and he listened to this band called anti-Flag, most of the lyrics from that band is pure anti-americanism, you clearly didn’t read that in your local failed newspaper rag. All of those stuff leans towards the far left wing, NONE of that is conservative. As for Bill Maher, he doesn’t know his hands from his buttocks, so of course this useful idiot will parrot the left wing talking points, and this kid is one of Bill Maher’s ilk and the rest of the left wing. And here’s Jared Loughner’s youtube profile:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/Classitup10

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

    1. jim says:

Sean R; It is you that needs to do research on a topic that you know nothing about. Need I say more dummy?

      1. Sean R. says:

Jim, you must be on some type drug bro, those stuff I expressed are FACTS, I am not parrotting Fox News (which I don’t Fox News anymore, because there nothing but phonies), all of these stuff that I explained have been written on other websites across the internet, read this kids youtube profile for once and you’ll find out that one of your own ilk, it’s a FACT. And I am NOT blaming the left wing media for his actions, I’m blaming him and his parents for not raising this dude right. Jim, you’ve proven that leftist refuse to acknowledge the exact facts.

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

      2. Bill says:

The Truth is the Truth sorry you can’t understand that.

    2. GM says:

apparently you don’t know your history, socialism was their economic system and fascism was their government as system(far far right). I like it when conservatives spout off random facts with no truth. I reject your reality and substitute my own. That’s what they all are thinking.

      1. Bill says:

GM you are correct it seems Sean R is a product of our failing educational system in America

  8. Someone that Knowns how to Read! says:

Sorry Yvonne, Are you on Crack? This guy was at other Democrat funtions and did not pass the military drug test. He was a very good Democrat, confussed. This gut was way out on the Left that he couldn’t see center.

  9. drp146 says:

Once again, I find myself agreeing completely with everything Bill Maher says. And no matter what the Nazi party called themselves, they were about as far to the political right as they could possibly be.

    1. Sean R. says:

@drp, I have to ruin your parade pal, the nazi’s where “National Socialist German Workers Party”, that’s a FACT, no an opinion, so please study history, they leaned towards the radical far left, that’s anything but conservative.

Your boy Bill Maher is a drugged up moron who doesn’t know squat and doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. This kid was a heavy marijuana smoker like Bill Maher, keep having your head in the sand buddy, because that’s what’s good for leftist like you, even real center-left liberals knows what going on, unlike you friggin progressives.

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

      1. drp146 says:

Nazism (Nationalsozialismus, National Socialism; alternatively spelled Naziism[1]) was the ideology and practice of the Nazi Party and of Nazi Germany.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] It was a unique variety of fascism that involved biological racism and antisemitism.[10] Nazism presented itself as politically syncretic, incorporating policies, tactics and philosophies from right- and left-wing ideologies; in practice, Nazism was a far right form of politics.[11]

      2. history student says:

It’s funny how you compare Maher with that lunatic Loughner; though what’s funnier is the fact the you think being a progressive is a negative thing. Since when is progress bad?

      3. drp146 says:

Some of us have read history and know the truth about many things, not just the Nazi partys right wing practices. They called themselves “Socialist” and “Workers Party” in order to fool the general public into voting them into power in the first place. You do some research and post some info or links to credible sources to prove me wrong on this if you can.

      4. drp146 says:

Sean R. I am calling you out. Prove that I am wrong with some actual research. You won’t be able to, but it will be fun to see you try. You see, you were fooled by the Nazi’s name just as the people of Germany were. Unlike you, I know more about them than just the full name they adopted in order to make them sound more attractive to the general population. The fra right in this country share many qualities with the Nazi’s of Germany.

      5. drp146 says:

Sean R. Your link led to a page with no information. Your attempt at research is as pathetic as your blind right wing idealism. I invite you once again to show some proof or research showing that the Nazi party was not far right wing, as my research and understanding of history shows. You can’t so you will probably resort to more right wing rhetoric in a vain attempt to salvage some dignity. I feel more sorry for you than anything.

      6. Sean R. says:

Drp, since you called me out , and you claimed that the far-right in this country share the same values of those in Germany in the 1930s, etc., let me ask you something man, and I’m calling you out this time bro. Adolph Hitler stood for “social justice” in his hey-day, that leans towards the left, left wingers spout out social justice all the time, that’s a fact, Hitler was a vegeterian, anybody from any political side can be vegeterian, so that’s a little irrelevant. Hitler never drank and smoked, samething, that can be said for either the left or right, that to is kinda irrelevant. Drp, this country is a “center-right” nation, NOT a “far-right”, or “far-left” nation, and none of us conservatives DO NOT agree with those on the far right (which there are a small number of them in this country), fact is, conservatives and centrist-liberals detest extremist politics from either the left or right. And Drp, nazisim was NOT a conservative ideology, they were “socialist”, but they weren’t typical socialist in their day.

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

      7. sensibility says:

Im a right wing republican and I think its outrageous for either of you to even try to relate the Nazi movement and the communist government to anything American, have we forgoten that they are the bad guy? Maybe instead of wasting your time searching for ideals and beliefs of communisim and how they so easily support your argument, maybe you should consider searching why American democracy is so great. Instead of fighting over and issue like immigrations rights maybe we should rejoice to have such a discussion because frankly most of you dont know what happen to those trying to migrate out of a communist nation, my family has experince and thank God survived, but we now treasure our new found rights and all you guys do from both sides is destroy the very basic foundation of that by even considering communism plays a role in our society. Keep reading about Nazi’s and communist because as i recall that is the ONLY THING Jared Loughtner read …..

      8. drp146 says:

Sean R. Your aurgument is pathetic. I am saying nothing about this country other than the fact that the FAR RIGHT WING-NUTS here share many qualities with the Nazi’s. I am not comparing them to conservatism at all. What I am saying is that you were wrong about the Nazi’s being left wing. They were not socialist, (as you keep saying, in spite of proof to the contrary), they only used the term for their own political gain. In practice they were extreme right wing. You were wrong and you know it. I’m done with this, unles you can prove that my understanding of the Nazi’s is wrong. I will post a formal apology if you can, but I feel pretty safe about not having to honor that promise.

    2. patsfan says:

Wow! A telling bit of liberal thinking. “So what if Nazis were left wing? I don’t want to believe that so look the other way while I rewrite history. As my heroes have said ‘A word means exactly what I say it means, nothing more and nothing less’ and ‘If the facts don’t conform with my theory then the facts must be disposed of'”. That make you feel all better about yourself>

      1. Sean R. says:

@history student, the fact is Jared Loughner is one of Bill Maher’s ilk, it’s a FACT, when the hell are you damn left wingers going to WAKE THE HELL UP! And your telling me that progressives have the best interest for this country, are you kidding me man, come one, progressives stand for everything anti-american, etc., if progressives are pro-american, then why the hell do you guys want to censor people you disagree with, ie, Media Matters, George Soros, etc.

Drp, socialisim leans towards the left mainly, and there are numerous ideologies of socialism, and it doesn’t have to be either left or right, it can also be in religion as well, so here’s the link dude:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Types_of_Socialism

“A nation is identified by it’s borders, language & culture!”

  10. John Mannone says:

Bill Maher is the other side of the scale with Rush Limbaugh. We are all free to voice our opinion.
We will never be able to stop the nuts from having guns no more than we can stop drugs. Our Justice department and the Judiciary has failed us miserably.

  11. P.J. says:

    Just FYI everybody;
    Wikipedia –
Nazism (Nationalsozialismus, National Socialism; alternatively spelled Naziism[1]) was the ideology and practice of the Nazi Party and of Nazi Germany.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] It was a unique variety of fascism that involved biological racism and antisemitism.[10] Nazism presented itself as politically syncretic, incorporating policies, tactics and philosophies from right- and left-wing ideologies; in practice, Nazism was a far right form of politics.[11]

  12. BO says:

Bill Maher is usually kind of funny, but not last night. He was pathetic.

  13. holysh.t says:

    Isn’t Maher from Canada?
    Need I say more?

    1. unholy.pee says:

Hey birther, are you one of those people who believe Obama wasn’t born in Amerca? My guess is that you are.

  14. Jeremy says:

People dislike Maher because he speaks a lot of truth and reports on stories most people have missed. If you watch his show, he has people on from both sides and gives them a fair shot to argue their case. Keep in mind that he is also an entertainer so there is some comedy on there. Maher does his best to be fair and balanced and when he is on the air, I feel things are not being overlooked in this country. He calls people out on both sides on their BS. Thank God for Bill Maher.

    1. Sean says:

Great summation Jeremy! 100% on the money.

  15. T. Robbins says:

Half of you on this board really need to return to school. Hitler sent Jews, SOCIALISTS and COMMUNISTS to concentration camps. The Nazis were fascists, the radicalization of capitalism’s conservative social ideology in order to protect the reigning economic order. Stalin’s Russia, however, had become nearly as conservative in its actual operation by the 40’s. Their kinship lies in a tightly controlled bureaucratic hierarchy–the consolidation of state control to fill in the political void opened up by Germany’s crumbling economy. The SPD, the actual German socialist party, almost did rise to control in the same period. Due to its popularity, the 3rd Reich adopted the ‘form’ of the party evacuated of content.

    1. Victim Du Jour says:

The American Democratic Party hated Jews before the Nazis even existed.

Nazis also murdered Catholics, just like the Democrats Ku Klux Klan party.

Benito Mussolini was a fascist like Woodrow Wilson, Hitler was a National Socialist.

“National Socialism” translates to “Racist Socialism”

  16. Happy Harry says:

I find it so amazing all the political garbage that goes on in the so called great country know as the USA. All I here is how great the USA is as far as other country’s in the world, How we are free and fight for the freedom of others. Fellow Americans please do yourself a favor stand over your coffee pots in the morning and take a deep intake of air through your nostrils. The rest of the world is laughing at us. We are so far in dept its not funny, And what are we looking for in a leader of this so called great country. Not some one who is respected and can stand up for a nation as far as dept and heath care goes or talk to other world leaders to stop national dept and put this country more in trouble than it is. Oh NO NOT US AMERICANS. All we care about in a leader is what religion he or she is and are the for or against abortion. Grow up AMERICA and get with what is going to get this country out of the world trouble it is in.

  17. Scott says:

Huh, if Maher is a drugged out moron then what does that make the pill popping windbag named Limbaugh?

  18. Gryphon1962m says:

I’ve watched Bill Maher for years, since the Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher days. And while, I often disagree with him, I do enjoy his show, mainly for the guests — when he lets them speak.

My main problem with Mr. Maher is that he thinks he’s a LOT funnier than he really is, and a LOT smarter than he really is.

While he is funny and smart he’s FAR FROM AS funny and smart as HE thinks he is.

  19. holysh.t says:

    Can’t take the heat?
Maher called the United States a”dumb” country.
So if you live here you(we) must be “dumb”.
I don’t really care where President Obama was born.
    He is my president.
I might not like his way of doing things, but he probably is doing the best he can at the moment.
He would probably be someone you could have a beer with and watch a basketball game.

  20. Sensibility says:

Jim in almost everyone of your comments you have stated your claim by name-calling, are you a child or part of the problem? And NO you do not need to say anymore, there is no discussing with those who refuse to listen. I am an American along with those who are commenting here, do not lump us in the elected officials and their opinions and ideas, use this forum to help resolve disputes amongst your neighbors and fellow americans through civility and not through what you see and hear on MSNBC or HBO. Finally do yourself a favor and recognize Maher for what he and every other news outlet is, the biggest capitalists going, I mean I dont even watch Bill Maher because he MUST CHOSE to work with a network that requires additoinal fees for viewing, do like Bill Maher Jim and go READ.

  21. ron says:

    need i say more– lol

  22. sensibility says:

RICHARD, I have 3 issues with your comment. #1 you say Bill Maher is an equal opportunity abuser, there is no place in our society for any kind of abuser, but it seems Bill Maher has taught you that as long as you hate everyone (like Jared Loughner does) then it is ok, WRONG. #2 you state that Bill Maher is a comedian, therefore his political voice should not be considered valid by any stretch of the imagination, if serious issue such as hate is funny to you and Bill Maher’s audience then I do believe you are on the top of the list of those who should look in the mirror. #3 you say that the Tea Party and Republican party displays such acts of violence and vitriole, if you honestly believe this is true can you please state a personal exerience you had with such hatred from republicans of tea party affiliates/members. Please refrain from using examples already made by MSNBC, CNN of Bill Maher, please refrain from using experiences others exploit on television and magazines, you tell me when you have experienced this and I wil then be glad to engage in a more thoughtful discussion, until then STOP WATCHING SO MUCH TELEVISION.

  23. Steve j says:

“No! I will not trust in God” hmmm? Never heard a rightwinger say that before? “No! I will not trust in God!” hmm? Dont think I have ever seen or heard one of those radio talk show guys say that before? Matter of fact am pretty sure that if you where on one of those shows and you made the No! I will not turst in God! statment, they would bleep it out and then hang up on you?

I had a coworker once who was as far left as you could get make a statment once to me when I was talking about my personal understanding of God. It was… “Thats fine for you but no! I will not trust in God!”

I think the reason that the left is making such hay out of this is simply they feel guilty that this guy thinks like them is so many ways. So they are projecting the blame onto someone or something else. Its a very common human response and like the tragic event its also very sad to see.

  25. James says:

Bill Maher is an idiot. You can’t stopy crazy and this kid (Tucson shooter) is insane. The father of the 9yr old who died from the shoting was on TV yesterday and it just brought me to tears to see the hurt on his face and think about such a horrible thing. But even he said and I quote: “This shouldn’t happen in this country or anywhere else, but in a free society, we’re going to be subject to people like this,” Green said. “So I prefer this to the alternative.” Again, you can’t stop crazy. I just hope that the shooter gets the death penalty and burns for eternity and that the familiies somehow get this behind them. And to the idiot Bill Maher, if guns kill people then i blame my keyboard for any grammatical errors above.

  27. Mark says:

Maher is an idiot. Murder is an action not a device. For GOD’s sake STOP blaming the device and blame the person who committed the crime.

    1. Tommy says:

This will be the only reply I make on this board… and I think you’re the perfect person to reply to. If you read what he said and truly think about it… what is the purpose of an automatic weapon that shoots 31 rounds in the hands of a civilian? The only people that should be allowed to have automatic weapons are members of the United States Military. I don’t see how or why that’s such a problem. No one is saying you can’t have a gun. I’m a gun owner. I don’t need an automatic weapon and I don’t see any possible use for them from a civilian standpoint. Please point it out to me why you need anything but a bolt action rifle, shotgun or handgun? I agree with you that we should blame the person and not the device… but we’re talking about two different discussions here. You can’t just dismiss his overall point about automatic weapons (the Assassins Lobby comment was stupid, I’ll admit) and dismiss it to help your argument. Don’t respond like 90% of the idiots on here. I would honestly like to know why any civilian needs an automatic weapon. If there aren’t any reasons (or good reasons) for civilians to have them… then what is the big deal about getting rid of them? Just because Bubba doesn’t want to give them up doesn’t mean that we’re erasing the 2nd Amendment. It would just be amended to meet with REASONABLE COMMON SENSE… which is something I think most American’s don’t have or subscribe to. When Bill Maher says that most American’s are “dumb” I think he’s more right than people on both sides of the political spectrum realize or comprehend. If more people from both sides of the aisle viewed things, comments, issues from an objective stance 1st and then made their assessment… we would be much better off. But, that’s not the case. Right wing people just spew out teenage style anti-left comments and left wing people just spew out teenage style anti-left comments because…. in the end… most of them are actually “dumb” as the architect of the statement says.

Try to be objective. Why do civilians need automatic weapons? Don’t be a typical idiot and reply with your political agenda instead of common sense. Think about it… and reply. Thank you.

      1. mike says:

BTW, A Glock 19 is a semi automatic pistol. You need a special ffl to own a “automatic firearm”. He had a 30 round clip in a “semi automatic” pistol.

  28. Michael the Rube says:

Sorry for the length everyone; to SeanR.- your attempt to speak with authority on a topic only shows you to be misinformed. Your beliefs regarding what Liberals and Conservatives are, is factually incorrect, or more lilkely, you have been fed an ideology that is propagated in right wing circles to bolster the right’s viewpoint, either way it looks like an embarrassing position to be in. Liberals are a group that are generally open-minded, this is not to say that any of our views are correct, but we are open to yours as well, check the dictionary . Conservatives, in my opinion, believe that they and only they are correct because they have god on their side. The dictionary describes them as more traditional and less open to change, or ideas other than their own. Let me be perfectly clear, this is only my experience, but I have noticed that conservatives don’t think too much for themselves but listen to what they are told to believe. As an example, you very rarely hear liberals spilling vitriol about another liberal because of opposing views, unlike Conservatives who eat their own because of a differing view, let alone an opposing view. What’s worse, you sanctimoniously attack someone for using a talking point, although you state no proof or support for that attack, when your post is not even your words but a talking point I have heard over and over on Fox news and from right wing pundits. Furthermore, as if a youtube profile means squat, you should read all the books on his youtube profile before you keep spilling that talking point. I don’t want to get personal and call you any names but your post lacks insight and looks like one written by a poser, plagiarist, hypocrite and someone who is rather unintelligent, in my opinion.

    1. sensibility says:

MIchael the Rube … you stated ” Let me be perfectly clear, this is only my experience, but I have noticed that conservatives don’t think too much for themselves but listen to what they are told to believe. As an example, you very rarely hear liberals spilling vitriol about another liberal because of opposing views, unlike Conservatives who eat their own because of a differing view, let alone an opposing view.” I believe you have this backkwards and the proof is in your own beliefs and writing. You say the liberals rarely spill vitriol because of their views, but a conservative would “eat their own” (i thought the righties were the ones with the violent talk, but anyway) you say they would “eat their own” because of differing views. Basically what you are saying is that the liberals are sheep who follow along with the progressive taling heads and just do as they are told, but the righties are willing to discuss and fight for their rights in a conversation. I will always continue to fight for my rights and beliefs michael, but you can continue to be a follower and just do as you are told by Bill Maher, Ed Shultz and the rest of the fools at MSNBC. And to be quite honest its not that we think we are “correct” because we have God on our side, it that we have FAITh in our beliefs because we have God on our side. You see I have God to look towards to better understand my own beliefs along with my fellow man’s beliefs, where as your faith comes simply from a teleivison and MSNBC which from what I recall has not been around for 2010 years. Let’s conitinue the conversation because I feel more hatred of my views coming from you then me hating upon your views. Im not going to be one of these people that says if you dont like it then move somewhere else because that destroys our basic foundation of democracy but what i will say is if you can discuss civilly without a bias view then just keep quiet because your hurting the cause and the country.

      1. drp146 says:

Just for clarification, I meant “Well Said” for Michael the Rube

      2. sensibility says:

Its “well said” only if you also believe using a dictionary definition of republicans as ” more traditional and less open to change” as a way to avoid true progressive discussion. You see one of the dictionary definition of progressive is “going forward or onward; passing successively from one member of a series to the next; proceeding step by step.” and the RECENT Democrat behavior has never governed in such a way. I’m sorry if it’s so much to ask to slow down, stop the name calling and have a civil intelligent conversation about how we established these differing views and why we truely differ so we can find a way to come to resolutions. Maybe if we have these conversations on forums like this without getting condescending and snippy it will keep us away from the garbage that spews from all angles of the media. There’s a reason we are glued to the tvs every sunday, it to remember no matter what we are all a team and their is always outside interference and garbage trying to pull us apart, but if we band together we can survive …. GO JETS J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!!!! BRADY SUCKS (sometimes getting to the point aint all that bad either)

  29. Michael the Rube says:

I also find it interesting that all these unintelligible comments don’t address any of the substance of Mr. Maher’s point, but are merely ad hominem. TomH, way to go buddy, you sure showed us liberals, that we dont want you are on our side. When are right-wingers going to learn calling people names makes you sound like a 3rd grader, hey TomH are know you are but what am I, you highlight how poor your argument is with personal attacks. We’ve all been in traffic court once before, have you ever heard a lawyer or a judge call the opponent a name as a way to win the argument, think about that people before you start spilling mindless insults. Truly brilliant Steve J, you prove my point.

  30. Victim Du Jour says:

Democrats deny their KKK history, like the Nazis deny the holocaust.

  31. jeff-minneapols says:

Typical righties on here. They are the victim. If their bigotry, lies and hate are called out THEY are being attacked.

  32. Michael the Rube says:

Sensibility, you should read my post again, read it slow this time and think about each word as it appears you read someone else’s post as I never mentioned any farm animals and in fact I stated that conservaties are often more lilkely to not think for themselves. You make many unsubstantiated claims that you apparently have no proof for. In the legal world a lawyer has to have proof or support for everything they say, so as you can see I prefaced my opnion as well directed you to the diciotnary, here that is not the common practice. How is telling me that I will always do what I am told or denigrating progressives not hating on my beliefs, and how is your comment about God and your beliefs not the same as being right because God is on our side? You have no diea what my beliefs are, you have no idea what denomination I am, and it seems you have no diea what I was saying in that post. Can you point me to anyone that isn’t biased to their own beliefs and why is it that you have to be unbiased to debate in a civil manner, do you even know what bias means? If we talking civility, name calling in a debate is not civil and is often employed by those who have weak arguments so dont call me a follower and in the same breath state that I need to be civil. Check your facts dude, Jesus was said to have lived 2000 years ago but Christianity wasn’t established until the Byzantine Emperor Theodosius I in 391 and the bible’s earliest writings were written 3500 years ago, so clearly you’re not a theologian. That last sentence, as with your entire post is not really coherent, proofreading before hitting the submit button does wonders, do that and then we’ll talk.

    1. sensibility says:

MIchael, I am not a lawyer, I am not a theologian. And please use the dictionary to learn how to spell the word dictionary Mr. Proofread and be sure to proofread prior to telling others to proof read, but this is yet another trait of the extreme left, to simply create a world based around their bias. My comment about God clealy states that God is a source of faith to me and a way for me to UNDERSTAND the morals and values i live by, but that does not automatically imply I am right. You flat out said because righties believe in God they think they are right, please, sir tell me what proof you have of that unsubstantiated claim. Also please send me the proof that illustrates how extreme lefties think for themselves and righties do not because franly that seems like a pretty unsubstantiated claim to me. You once again seem to have a great deal of anger and anxiety towards me trying to converse with you by using a condescending tone and the extreme bias of the left. I say there is no room for civil conversation with a bias lefty because it turns into your last post, how does your last post generate any sort of solution to the problem. You see my solution is to put all biases aside and understand the actual arguement prior to debating. I read these posts of people hating maher and blaming the right and the let for the shooting and both sides trying to compare each other to the nazi’s, dont you see there is no end to this arguement. All this arguement does is generate more hate and allow each bias to utilize pieces of information and history to somehow support their claims. what i am saying is let’s first figure out a way to get back to the fundamental understanding of debate and democracy before we tear this country apart. i dont not agree with many of the republican taling heads in fact most of the time I listen to XM radio America Left and watch MSNBC to better try and understand the other side, but all I ever hear is why the righties are wrong and how stupid they are, it is very rare to see and hear and honest debate of issues on any television program without some form of hate intejecting itself into the discussion and frankly Michael no matter how smart you are and i am sure you are a smart individual, but you will never understand me until you better understand America and democracy as a whole, so go ahead and mock my proofreading and continue to speak down to me as through Im nobody because it wont keep me from engaging in true debate without hate. No matter how hard you try I wont allow you to get under my skin and rile me up, I wont let it happen because its not worth it.

      1. sensibility says:

Michael, please forgive me as I forgot to ask, what are your beliefs. Your right I do not know what you believe and I actually never said I knew what you believe, but let’s start here. Do you believe the media in this country is to blame for the Tuscon Arizona shooting? I personaly do not, I actually believe there is not 1 tiny shred of anything that can support that claim and I also believe the tone rhetoric does not have to change one bit, but people just need to stop listening, let them talk, let them hate, FOX and MSNBC, and let us live.

  33. Victim Du Jour says:

The 1924 Democratic National Convention is the largest recorded KKK rally in US history. The DNC boasted 6 million Ku Klux Klan members.

Shortly after Woodrow Wilson promoted the film “A Birth of a Nation”, and I am sure he promoted it to his buddies in the League of Nations.

It is very possible the American Democratic Party inspired Nazism.

  34. Victim Du Jour says:

Christian Soldiers went to Europe with products made by capitalists. General Electric, Boeing, Northrup, Remington and Sons, Ford, General Motors, Lockeed Martin, and Westinghouse used their fake evil Hollywood greed and corruption to help Christian and Jewish soldiers defeat the Nazis.

Right Wingers defeated the Nazis, look at all the christian crosses and Stars of David at the Fort Snelling Grave yard.

  35. JFR3 says:

Maher is an idiot. Common sense is me being able to keep my sidearm to protect my family from crazies. What did I do wrong.

  36. sensibility says:

michael, drp … reread our posts and tell me which ones seem more similar to Democrat Prez Obama speech at Tuscon Arizona Memorial.

  37. ezryder says:

Why don’t you left wingers look at the jokes Bill Mahar made about child molestation on the Craig Ferguson show. He’s an idiot

  38. Chuck says:

Earlier today, a rental truck carried a half a million ballots from Palm Beach to the Florida Supreme Court there in Tallahassee. CNN had live helicopter coverage from the truck making its way up the Florida highway, and for a few brief moments, America held the hope that O.J. Simpson had murdered Katherine Harris.”
    — Bill Maher on ABC’s Politically Incorrect, November 30, 2000.

  39. Chuck says:

Is WCCO radio trying to incite violence against Republicans? In particular Governor Palin?

  40. donna lear says:

BILL IS SOMETIMES VERY FUNNY BUT LAST NIGHT HE JUST CAME OFF AS A ARROGANT ASS.EVER COUNTRY THAT REQUIRE ITS CITIZENS TO BE ARMED HAVE A VERY,VERY LOW CRIME RATE.TO BAD PEOPLE WERENT PACKING .THAT GUY PROABLY WOULD HAVWE 2O BULLENTS IN HIM BEFORE HE HIT SO MANY,AND TO BILL MATHER THOSES OFF US WHO CARRY A GUN ALSO KNOW HOW TO USE THEM.WHY WOULD YOU THINK WE DIDNT?

  41. thrushjz says:

“If They bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun” Barack Obama, Campaign speech, 2008, Philadelphia.
    Let’s see Maher defend that.

    1. Ray Venditti says:

Some of you folks are very ignorant! To say Maher is dumb, stupid ect has no basis. While I don’t agree with all his opinions and how he delivers them, the man is a Cornell graduate and is actually very intelligent. I like how he has the balls to speak his mind, right or wrong. He’s a independent thinker instead of a follower of the media which is currupt because they are owned by big business who is in bed with our govertment and if you think our goverment tells us the truth then your as ignorant as you think he is.

      1. Abbey Normal says:

@Ray An education at a prestigious college is no guarantee of intelligence. Maher started as just another stand up comedian. You are not pulling from the top of the barrel when you are talking about comedians. All they have is their wit and that sometimes sounds like intelligence.

I don’t think Maher is all that much of an independent thinker. I suppose if you count incorrect conclusions and preposterousness assumptions as independent then I suppose you are correct.

But when it comes to independent thought I look at people like Jonah Goldberg or even Glenn Beck as stepping outside of the norm with reason and logic.

  42. Whizard says:

I love Bill Maher!! The right wingers are foaming while posting their hate messages – mad dogs! Hahaha!!

  43. Whizard says:

Hitler is a Nazi, a right winger as opposed to socialist. His party, the National Socialist Party is actually a workmens party which he siezed and used. The right wingers and socialist are arch-enemies. The Socialists like the USSR ( Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in case you don’t know) was Hitler’s No. 1 enemy. Hitler was a fascist and an anti- communist. He invaded the USSR during WW 11 to wipe it out but ended being wiped ou!

  44. AC says:

Six people in Arizona die,and people are dragging up the nazis???…losing track are we??
The focus should be on stopping further bloodshed.
The problem is and always will be…MONEY!
Gun makers use scare tactics by telling people that they need guns to protect themselves…from whom?…OTHER AMERICANS!
Gun companies are cashing in on people’s fears and blood.
The brave women and men fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan have a better chance of being shot in their own home town than they do over there.
FBI estimates there are over 200 million privately owned guns in the U.S,if that doesn’t scare you,i hate to think what does!

  45. Bill says:

“Conservatives” great at playing the victim, 6 people murdered and 14 wounded in a public shooting spree and they still thinks it’s all about them and it is everybody elses fault, talk about a bunch of whining cowards

  46. mark from mntaxwaste.com says:

I’m a Republican, and for anyone to drag politics into this senseless action by a nut job is a fool. The loser should get the chair, the sooner the better.
