The Good Life For Less: Can Free Movies Cure Cabin Fever?

Another snow storm may mean you will be spending more time indoors over the next few days, but you can still beat that cabin fever and stay busy inside with some free movie rentals.

-Redbox has a few coupon codes that you can use to get some free rentals: 4j3ttdt, v2ggmxm, Hx4h4vk, and xhnj5xv (Exp. 02/28). Click here to find a location. Also note that when you start a new account or sign up for their newsletters you get even more codes for free rentals.

-Blockbuster Express is giving a free movie rental with coupon code ESU11B. They have kiosks where you can get 24-hour rentals on hundreds of films. Find one near you here.

-You can get a free 1-month trial to Netflix here. Just remember to cancel once your month is up, but if you want to continue you can pay $7.99 a month to get unlimited movies to stream on your TV, MAC or PC. It is $9.99 to get unlimited DVDs by mail.

-Also don't forget about Hulu. Not only do they have TV shows, but also a wide collection of movies and documentaries available to watch free.

-When in doubt, you can always find a mix of old and new releases at your local library. You can usually check these out for up to a week.

May I suggest a few warm-weather movies like 'The Blue Lagoon,' '50 First Dates,' or 'Mamma Mia!' You can also check out this list of tropical/ warm-weather movies that will help you escape from the snow for an hour or two.

My survival motto this winter: 'Think warm and spend less!'
