Gophers Add Goaltender From NAHL

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota has added depth to its goaltending by bringing in Alex Fons from the North American Hockey League.

The Golden Gophers announced that Fons has agreed to join the team on Wednesday. He played for Hopkins High School last year and was 1-2-0 in five games for the Alexandria Blizzard this season. He had a gaudy 4.09 goals-against average and an .828 save percentage with the Blizzard.

He will be the third goaltender for the Gophers.
