Weather Blog: Dangerously Cold For Some

By Chris Shaffer, WCCO-TV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The coldest air so far this season is upon us. We are in wind chill advisories, wind chill warnings and even the experimental extreme cold warning up north.

At least the wind will back off Friday morning eliminating the wind chill threat, but the cold air remains.

We will have our coldest afternoon high of the season as we warm to 1 above.

There could be some light snow passing during the afternoon drive, but the models are backing off on the amount. Expect a dusting to maybe an inch by the time it passes.

This weekend looks warmer, but still cold. Expect highs around 10 and 12 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.

The longer range models are still hinting at highs in the low 20s next week.

Cross your fingers.
