Mpls. Police Investigate City's 2nd Murder Of The Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man was shot and killed in an alley in South Minneapolis Friday night.

Police were called just before 10 p.m. on reports that gunshots were heard in the area of 36th Street East and Clinton Avenue South. When they arrived, they found the body of a man inside a vehicle in the alley behind 3656 Clinton Ave. South.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as 58-year-old Stanley Curtis Rogers, of Minneapolis, and said he died of a gunshot would to the chest.

The Minneapolis Police Homicide Unit is investigating. They said there are a number of people being detained, but at this point it's not known if they're involved in the incident or not.
