Klobuchar: Economic Issues Will Highlight State Of Union

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar expects President Barack Obama will talk about jobs in his State of the Union address Tuesday night.

"The country needs to come together on one track on jobs, private sector jobs," said Klobuchar.

The Minnesota democrat believes economic issues will dominate the speech.

"I want to hear from him about reducing government spending and looking at how we're going to attack this deficit," Klobuchar added.

Obama issued a preview of the speech during the weekend in which he said the stock market is up and corporate profits are healthy again. But he said there's more work to be done.

Obama will address Congress and the nation at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
