Minn. Duluth Beats Michigan Tech 3-0
HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) -- Minnesota-Duluth scored twice in a span of two minutes in the first period and went on to beat Michigan Tech 3-0 Saturday for a sweep of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Aaron Crandall made 14 saves as the fifth-ranked Bulldogs (17-5-3, 12-4-2) notched their second straight shutout of the Huskies (3-18-3, 1-14-1). Kenny Reiter made 14 saves in Friday's 5-0 win.
Michigan Tech is winless in its last 19 games.
Jack Connolly scored at 12:24 of the opening period and Dan DeLisle added another goal at 14:25. It stayed that way until J.T. Brown scored for the Bulldogs with 1:52 left in the game.
The Bulldogs outshot the Huskies 33-14. Michigan Tech managed just one shot on goal in the second period.
Josh Robinson made 30 saves for Michigan Tech.
