2 Found Dead In Vadnais Heights Town Home

By Reg Chapman, WCCO-TV

VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police are investigating after two bodies were found in a Vadnais Heights neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Officers were called around 10 a.m. to a town home on the 800 block of Woodgate Drive to check on the welfare of a resident. One of their co-workers called police after reporting that they hadn't seen one of them in two days.

When they arrived, they saw the bodies of a man and a woman inside the home.

The manner and cause of death are not known at this time.

Neighbors say the couple was friendly and the man had spent some time in the military. He was scheduled to go to Afghanistan in March.

"I talked to him more than I talked to her and he called my dad 'sir' all the time he was really friendly and nice. He openly talked about his duties in the military and things like that," said Haley Akermark.

Neighbors say the woman was a day care provider.

"They lived here about a year and we never had any issues," said neighbor Craig Akermark.

Investigators with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating.

Authorities say they don't believe there is any threat to other residents in the neighborhood. No reports were made of gunshots in the area.

The names of the young couple will not be released until their families have been notified.
