DeBlog: Are SUVs Safer In The Winter?

Another snowy morning, another morning with hundreds of vehicles in the ditch. How many of them were SUVs?

We've all seen that crazy SUV driver flying down the interstate during a snowstorm. Four-wheel drive + size = invincible -- some seem to think. But is there any truth to that? Are you safer in an SUV or do they just spin out harder than a small car?

A couple years ago, I got into a spin-out on I-94 while I was driving in a snowstorm. I was in my Ford Explorer, which had to be totaled out.
