Gophers Freshman Kellogg Gets Big Ten Honor
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota women's basketball team has finally found the win column in conference play.
After losing their first seven Big Ten games, the Gophers won back-to-back contests last week at home against Northwestern and first-place Michigan. Their overall record is 10-12.
Forward Kionna Kellogg was named Monday the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week after averaging eight points and 14 rebounds per game in the victories over Northwestern and Michigan. Kellogg is from Ames, Iowa. She was recently inserted in the starting lineup.
Minnesota's next game is at Indiana Thursday.
