MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Eight golden retriever puppies were among the 90 dogs rescued from a puppy mill in North Dakota just over a week ago.

The puppies got parvo, which is a highly contagious and deadly virus.

One of the puppies didn’t make it and four of the puppies are intensive care at the University of Minnesota veterinary clinic. Three are receiving outpatient care.

Volunteers from Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota rescued the puppies but need help paying the medical bills.

The cost of helping the puppies is expected to run in excess of $15,000.

The University is a teaching school. The only costs in this case should be for medications.

It isn’t like getting your hair cut at beauty school… Humans and animals both go to teaching colleges to get treated because that is where the experts are, not because it is free. According to the VMC’s website “It is the most advanced, full-service referral care center for large and small animals in Minnesota. The VMC sees more than 35,000 cases annually, with specialists available in all areas of medicine and surgery.” http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2011/02/02/puppies-rescued-from-mill-need-help-homes/ Hopefully your misunderstanding doesn’t cost this group donations that might have made a difference for these dogs.

Not so. The public pays. I’ve had my dog there and it is not cheap!!

  2. Donna says:

That is incorrect. The costs are all paid for by RAGOM.

    “The puppies have parvo….”
    “The puppies contracted parvo…”
“The puppies are infected with parvo….”

But not, “The puppies got parvo…..”

Yeah, guess someone writing news stories for a living don’t need no stinkin’ grammar lessons.

Enough of the back and forth….. How about we just worry about finding homes for the puppies. I would GLADLY take one if I were allowed to have animals in my home. and also intend on talking to my landlord to see if we can work something out. I have 2 boys who would love to have a dog.

Thanks , I have just been looking for information about this topic for a long time and yours is the best I’ve discovered till now. However, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the supply?|What i do not understood is in truth how you are not actually much more well-preferred than you may be right now. You’re very intelligent.
