Hockey Player With Frostbite Says He's Fine

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- Hospital officials say a star University of North Dakota hockey player who suffered frostbite to toes on his right foot has full use of all of his extremities.

Sophomore forward Danny Kristo of Eden Prairie, Minn., was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul after suffering frostbite while walking near campus Sunday evening. Neither the university nor the Kristo family has provided further details.

Kristo is listed in fair condition. He says in a statement that he's doing fine and feeling better than he did the first two days. He also says he feels fortunate.

The hospital says Kristo will spend time at his parents' home after he's discharged to continue treatment before he returns to Grand Forks.

Kristo is a draft pick of the NHL's Montreal Canadians.
