Sex Offender Accused In Minn. Home Invasion

GREY EAGLE, Minn. (AP) -- A registered sex offender is accused of breaking into an 82-year-old woman's home in central Minnesota, robbing and sexually assaulting her.

Todd County authorities allege that 42-year-old Robert John Wilder of Swanville forced his way into the woman's home on Oct. 30 and cut her face with a knife. The charges allege Wilder also stole cash, tied the woman up and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.

Wilder faces charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon and making terroristic threats.

Wilder is jailed in Crow Wing County, where he was charged in a different case in January. Wilder is accused of punching and raping a woman, then forcing her male friend and her to perform sex acts.
