MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Parker Quartet, who are currently the quartet-in-residence with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, won a Grammy Award Sunday evening.

The group’s album of Gyorgy Ligeti’s “String Quartets Nos. 1 & 2″ won an award as the best chamber music performance. Their recording beat out albums of music by Ludwig Van Beethoven, Radamés Gnattali, Quincy Porter and Arnold Schoenberg.

The Parker Quartet, a string ensemble, are Daniel Chong, Karen Kim, Jessica Bodner and Kee-Hyun Kim. Bodner is originally from Wisconsin.

They are also the first-ever Artists-in-Residence with Minnesota Public Radio.
