Lakeville Hockey Coach Fractures Skull During Practice

LAKEVILLE (WCCO) -- The head coach for the Lakeville North girl's hockey team is in the hospital after falling and hitting his head on ice.

The accident happened during practice Monday.

Linda Swanson, communications coordinator for Lakeville area public schools, says Coach Buck Kochevar was not wearing a helmet.

Kochevar has a fracture to the back of his skull and had some internal bleeding located between the skull and the tissue that protects the brain.

Right now, he's in the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview. He is listed in fair condition.
