Wis. Police: Man Had 0.559 Blood-Alcohol Level

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Madison police say a man found lying on the ground had a blood-alcohol level nearly seven times the legal proof of intoxication in Wisconsin.

Officers were called Friday evening when a resident reported seeing a man lying on the ground after another man rang the doorbell.

The resident told the men to leave and called police. The man who rang the doorbell left, and police took the other man to a hospital after finding him unconscious.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that according to a police incident report, the unconscious man had a blood-alcohol level of 0.559 percent.

The man was carrying no identification. The police report says he later left the hospital against doctors' advice.

For motor vehicle operators in Wisconsin, a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or more is legal proof of intoxication.
