Weather Blog: Saturday Will Be Nicer

By Chris Shaffer, WCCO-TV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It will start out cool on Saturday with a good deal of sunshine. The clouds will increase throughout the day as we warm to 31. This is close to average this time of year.

The nice bonus is that the wind won't be too bad.

Sunday is a whole different story.

A strong low will swing from Colorado, through Nebraska and across Iowa. The heaviest snow will fall during the day on Sunday across the southern half of Minnesota.

Some towns could see over 10 inches of snow by the time it tapers off to flurries on Monday morning.

The wind will also be in the 10-20 mph range making blowing and drifting snow a lock as well as poor visibility while the snow is falling. So, be careful on the roads.

The good news is that the storm is hitting on a weekend and there is no school on Monday.

Stay tuned for the latest on this storm.
