DULUTH, Minn. (AP) – Duluth police say a 12-year-old boy from Wisconsin was killed in an apparent skiing accident while on a church trip.
The Duluth News Tribune reports Saturday that ski patrol officers at Spirit Mountain found the boy lying in a tree line about halfway down a ski run at about 4:15 p.m. on Friday. An ambulance took the boy to a Duluth hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The boy has not been identified. He was from Grantsburg, Wis., and police say he was skiing with a church group.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Duluth Police Department.
