Wolves Leader Kevin Love At All-Star Weekend

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kevin Love is having an All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.

The Minnesota Timberwolves power forward will participate in the NBA All-Star game on Sunday night as a reserve for the Western Conference team. Love was picked to replace injured Houston Rockets center Yao Ming on the squad.

Love is just the fifth player in Timberwolves history to gain All-Star status. He's the first since Kevin Garnett four years ago.

Love leads the league in rebounding but he has rounded his game out this season by significantly increasing his scoring average and 3-point shooting percentage.

Love's teammate Wesley Johnson also went to Los Angeles for the weekend. He was selected to participate in the rookie-sophomore game.
