Minnesotans Ready For Spring (No Rush)

By Edgar Linares, NewsRadio 830 WCCO

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Inch by inch, the Twin Cities gets closer to matching the current record for the most snow in a single winter. Do you think they're excited by that? To hear them tell it, emotions are mixed.

Javon Jones got her car stuck turning into a parking lot, less than 100 yards from her job at Petco.

"It's not clear, this Prairie Lake Drive is not clear. I'm like the third car that I've seen stuck. I'm trying to get to work right there," said Jones.

John Yedoni was driving around Eden Prairie in his pickup, helping stranded drivers.

"I'm just trying to get people unstuck and stuff. I don't have class today so I thought I'd help out," he said. "It's all the residential areas. The main roads around the mall are good. But once they try to get back to their house or out of their house ..."

Marina Shukh's dog Simba was probably the most excited to see the snow.

"Very happy," said Shukh. "He dives in these snow piles like its water."

Some, like John Vandirel, who was shoveling another round of fresh snow from his driveway, weren't in quite as good spirit.

"I'm tired of it," he exclaimed. "I'm ready for winter to end."

That was a common reaction. Most think winter is starting to overstay its welcome.

"It's been a really long one. Just when we thought we had a break, things are melting ... here we go again," said Mindy Sisk.
