COLD SPRING, Minn. (AP) — Two snowmobilers are OK after their sleds went through the ice and ended up in Krays Lake south of Cold Spring.
One of the snowmobilers reported the accident to the Stearns County sheriff’s office Monday night.
Sheriff John Spanner says the snowmobilers said they were going through a channel area when their snowmobiles fell through the ice.
The St. Cloud Times reports the machines sank to the bottom of the lake. The riders were able to get themselves out of the water and to shore. They were checked by paramedics but refused to be taken to a hospital.
The sheriff says the snowmobiles are still in the lake and must be removed by the owners.
