Wednesday morning, Minnesota Wild General Manager joined WCCO’s Sid Hartman. The Wild are coming off a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, a team they’ve now beaten 15 consecutive times at home. Coach Todd Richards has been forced to shuffle his lines as the Wild are without Captain Mikko Koivu for at least a couple of weeks with a broken finger. Fletcher has said he does not plan on replacing Koivu through a trade and that the team will make up for his absence from within. Currently, the Wild are in 5th place in the very tight Western Conference Playoff race.
Here is Sid’s interview with GM Chuck Fletcher:
Next up for the Wild is a short, west-coast road swing. They’ll start Thursday night in Los Angeles against the Kings (9:05 pregame on WCCO Radio). Friday, they’re in Anaheim to take on the Ducks (8:35 pregame on WCCO Radio). They’ll return home on Monday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks at the Xcel Energy Center.
