Weather Blog: No Heat In Sight

By Chris Shaffer, WCCO-TV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It will be a gradual cool down, but don't expect highs in the 40s or even 30s for the next few days.

Friday and Saturday will be our coldest with highs only in the teens.

Saturday morning we bottom out with below zero readings even here in the Twin Cities.

We average 30 days falling to zero or colder and so far we've only had 19 this season. Expect that 20th.

Now the cold is actually doing us a favor as high pressure should keep the active storm track south of us.

Southeastern Minnesota may get clipped with some snow late Sunday into Monday, but remember that much can change in the next 48 hours.

We will keep an eye on it and continue to pour over our charts searching for that much desired warm up.
