Boy, 6, Struck By Driver's Side Mirror

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- St. Paul Police say they're investigating after a hit-and-run driver struck a 6-year-old boy with a side rear-view mirror.

According to police, the incident happened at about 7 p.m. Sunday on University Avenue, west of Albert Street North.

The victim's father said he had just parked his car on University and his son had gotten out and come around to the driver's door.

A light blue minivan of SUV going east on University drove past, and the vehicle's passenger side rear-view mirror clipped the boy in the head.

The victim was taken to Regions Hospital. It was determined his injuries were not life-threatening.
