Police Search For Masked TCF Bank Robber

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- Police are asking the public's help in locating a man accused of robbing the TCF Bank Scenic Hills branch on Monday.

The Minneapolis FBI said the robbery took place around 7 p.m. at 1988 Suburban Ave. in St. Paul. The robber allegedly came into the bank, displayed a black handgun and ordered everyone in the bank to lie down on the floor.

Police say he then approached the teller and demanded money. After being handed some money, he demanded more and announced he would come back and shoot people if he heard any sirens or alarms.

The robber then fled the bank on foot.

He is described as an Asian man, about 5-foot-7 with a slight build. He was wearing black pants, a black hooded jacket, black mask and white gloves at the time of the incident.

The FBI believes the robber may be responsible for the robbery of the TCF Bank at 1503 West Robert in West St. Paul on Jan. 3.

Anyone with information regarding this bank robbery is asked to contact the Minneapolis FBI Office at (612) 376-3200, the St. Paul Police Department at (651) 291-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
