Columbia Heights Family Of 4 Displaced By Fire

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) -- A house fire in Columbia Heights, Minn. forced a family of four out into a chilly night.

The fire broke out overnight at a home on the 200 block of 40th Avenue Northeast.

The fire was in a small bedroom upstairs, which had been fashioned from a half-finished attic area.

There was damage to some of the contents of the room, as well as the walls.

All four people at home at the time of the fire made it out safely.

The water and smoke damage means the family can't stay there, but they haven't decided whether they will need assistance from the Red Cross.
