Monkees To Perform At Minnesota Zoo

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (AP) -- Some Monkees are coming to the Minnesota Zoo this summer -- but these Monkees sing.

Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork are scheduled to perform at the zoo's amphitheater July 1-2 as part of The Monkees' 45th anniversary tour. Tickets go on sale Friday.

It's the first live performances by the band in a decade. The tour starts June 3 in Atlanta and is set to hit more than 30 cities before wrapping up July 15 in Los Angeles.

The Monkees had a hit TV show in the 1960s and a string of hit songs including "I'm a Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville" and "Daydream Believer."

Original Monkee Michael Nesmith is not part of the tour.
