MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota women’s basketball team has finished with a losing record and out of postseason tournament contention for the second straight year.
The Gophers lost to Northwestern Thursday in the first round of the Big Ten tournament, dropping their record to 12-18. Senior guard China Antoine had 18 points in her final game for the Gophers. Forward Kristen Dockery is the only other senior on the team.
The Gophers went 13-17 last season. In nine seasons under coach Pam Borton, they’ve missed the NCAA tournament only three times, with two of those in the last two years.
