MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota women’s basketball team has finished with a losing record and out of postseason tournament contention for the second straight year.

The Gophers lost to Northwestern Thursday in the first round of the Big Ten tournament, dropping their record to 12-18. Senior guard China Antoine had 18 points in her final game for the Gophers. Forward Kristen Dockery is the only other senior on the team.

The Gophers went 13-17 last season. In nine seasons under coach Pam Borton, they’ve missed the NCAA tournament only three times, with two of those in the last two years.

Gotta love IT!!! No score of the game or how it went down. I watched a couple minutes on TV and they were down 18-16 half. Maxy said on the 6 they were down 14-3, so I wanted to see how it was going for them. With this story, I will never know how they lost it.

    POOR 4.
