Blackburn Sharp In Twins' Win Over Rays

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) -- Nick Blackburn pitched three perfect innings and Chris Parmelee hit a solo homer Saturday to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 6-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Blackburn hasn't allowed a run or walked a batter in five innings this spring. He teamed with Matt Capps and Pat Neshek to hold the Rays hitless until Sean Rodriguez doubled leading off the sixth against Jeff Manship.

Rays starter Andy Sonnanstine had another rough outing.

Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire said Jair Fernandez was stung by a bee in the dugout before the game. A trainer removed the stinger from the catcher's mouth, and Fernandez went 1 for 1 with a seventh-inning single.
