Nebraska-Omaha Beats Minn. Duluth 5-2

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Terry Broadhurst scored two goals Saturday as Nebraska-Omaha beat Minnesota Duluth 5-2 to take over temporary possession of second place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Mavericks (21-13-2, 16-9-2) have 36 points, one ahead of Denver, which played host to St. Cloud State on Saturday.

Brock Montpetit, Alex Hudson and Matt Ambroz also scored for UNO, which is in its first season in the WCHA.
Joe Basaraba and Justin Fontaine had goals for the Bulldogs (20-9-6, 15-8-5), who outshot the Mavericks 31-28. Ambroz's goal came on the power play.

John Faulkner had 29 saves for UNO and Kenny Reiter made 23 stops for UMD.
Jack Connolly had two assists to finish the regular season with a league-leading 51 points.
