Minnesota Man Killed In Ariz. Motorcycle Accident

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) -- A Minnesota man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding near the Arizona-California border collided with a Lake Havasu City police car.

Police identified the victim Tuesday as 56-year-old Randy James Wynia of Slayton, Minn.

They say he was riding his motorcycle Monday night on State Route 65 when he apparently suffered a medical emergency of some kind.

Police say Wynia's chopper then crossed into the highway's other lane and into the path of a police cruiser.

Authorities say Wynia was ejected from the motorcycle and wasn't wearing a helmet. They say Wynia was taken to Havasu Regional Hospital and died of his injuries Monday night.

Police say the accident remains under investigation, but neither speed nor alcohol use appear to be factors.
