Alaska-Anchorage Upends Minnesota 4-3

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Alaska-Anchorage blew a three-goal lead before eking out a 4-3 win over Minnesota on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.

Alaska-Anchorage (15-17-3), which is 2-10-0 in playoff games against the Golden Gophers (16-13-6) since joining the WCHA, can advance to the Final Five with a win on Saturday.

Sean Wiles had a goal and an assist and Jordan Kwas had two assists for the Seawolves, who had a 36-25 shots on goal advantage. Jade Portwood and Alex Gellert added goals for UAA.

Trailing 3-0, Minnesota tied it on goals by Jake Hansen, Kevin Ness and Kevin Wehr.

Wehr's goal at 11:18 of the third period made it 3-3, but that lasted just two minutes before Mitch Bruijsten scored what would be the winning goal.

Chris Kamal had 22 saves for the Seawolves and Kent Patterson had 32 stops for Minnesota.
