Guthrie To Host 12th Annual Shakespeare Classic

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Young people have a chance to see a special performance of Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale" at the Guthrie Theater on Sunday.

The annual event is aimed at children ages 8 to 15. It features a specially prepared play program, $10 tickets to the 1 p.m. matinee and a reception afterward with costumed actors from the show.

The Shakespeare Classic started in 1999. Guthrie Director Joe Dowling began the tradition to honor longtime staff member Sheila Livingston and her husband, Ken, for setting up the Livingston Education Fund.

All adults must be accompanied by a young person. Tickets are available through the Guthrie box office and are not available for purchase online.
